Tokens & AI usage
Eloquent agents use tokens to process input and output. Tokens are the unit of measure for how much text is being sent to, or returned from, the AI model. We don't differentiate between providers or models, the price per a million tokens is fixed.
- Input tokens → Everything your client or system sends into the agent.
- Output tokens → Everything the agent responds with.
Pricing
Token usage is billed separately from the license fee of the platform. Costs are prepaid through the wallet in Eloquent:
- Input tokens → €16 per 1 million tokens.
- Output tokens → €60 per 1 million tokens.
Why the price difference between in- and output? Output is more expensive because it consumes more compute power.
Wallet System
All token usage is billed through a central wallet managed by the whitelabel owner.
- Clients don’t have their own wallet — you are the one who manages credits for all agents.
- The wallet works on a prepaid system: you top up credits in advance, and usage costs (input & output tokens) are deducted automatically.
- To avoid downtime, you can enable automatic top-up, so your wallet always refills to a set balance.
- You can view costs per agent inside the dashboard. This helps you understand which agents are most expensive and adjust pricing or usage with your clients accordingly.
License fees for the Eloquent platform are always separate from token usage. You pay both:
- A fixed license fee (per your plan).
- Variable usage costs through your wallet.
Why Prepaid?
- Full control → You decide how much balance to add.
- Predictability → You can track usage per client and recharge when needed.
- Transparency → Clear insight into how many tokens are consumed and for what purpose.
Example
- A client’s support agent handles 1,000 conversations in a month.
- Each conversation uses ~10,000 input tokens and 1,000 output tokens.
- Total: ~10 million input + ~1 million output tokens.
- Cost: €160 + €60 = €220 (deducted from your wallet).
