Getting started

What is Eloquent?

Eloquent is a system for deploying AI agents, also known as AI chatbots, on your website.

An Eloquent AI agent reads your content, understands your information, and helps visitors find answers faster — without changing your website or involving your development team.

Most website AI tools rely on keyword search, static prompts, or chatbots that hallucinate. Eloquent takes a different approach: it builds a structured understanding of your website and uses that to give accurate, contextual answers backed by real content.

All you need is a single script.

Everything else — ingestion, updates, reasoning, model management — is handled for you.

Why Eloquent?

Modern websites have a problem: they contain more content than visitors can realistically navigate.

  • Search often fails.
  • Menus don’t scale.
  • FAQs grow endlessly.
  • And users still leave without finding what they came for.

Eloquent solves this by adding a dynamic layer of understanding on top of your site:

  • It reads your pages automatically.
  • It connects related information.
  • It explains your content in plain language.
  • It directs visitors to the exact page or document they need.

It’s the fastest way to improve clarity, reduce support load, and make complex information accessible.

What an Eloquent AI agent does

An Eloquent AI agent is not a simple chatbot. It performs four core functions:

1. Understands your website

It crawls your sitemap, processes documents, and creates a structured knowledge model that stays up to date as your content changes. If want to know more about this process read about it here on our page about AI agent knowledge bases.

2. Answers complex questions

The agent provides accurate, referenced answers based on your real content — not guesses, not generic AI output. There are a lot of settings you can tweak to make an agent behave the way you want to, check out our page on AI agent settings to know more about this topic.

3. Guides users to the right place

It recommends pages, explains procedures, clarifies policies, and helps visitors complete tasks.

This makes it ideal for public-facing informational websites such as government portals, knowledge platforms, healthcare pages, non-profits, and service providers.

4. Identify the company of a visitor

This feature is primarily aimed at B2B businesses, but it’s extremely powerful for an AI agent to have. For each active session—whether or not a conversation takes place—the agent identifies the visitor’s company based on their IP address and logs all interactions the user has with the website. These insights provide strong signals for sales and marketing teams. Read more about this feature here.

What makes Eloquent different?

No prompt engineering
The agent is driven by your content, not by maintaining prompts.

No configuration overhead
Install a script, the agent configures itself.

No hallucinations
Agents answer strictly from your content unless you explicitly allow additional sources.

No technical expertise required
Policy teams, editors, and communication staff can manage the agent without developers.

Extra powerful for B2B business
Because Eloquent’s AI agents can identify the companies visiting your website, it’s a powerful tool for B2B businesses. If you’re in B2B, Eloquent is a must-have.
